Digital Age Solution Donates Chromebooks to Walkersville High School

When Walkersville High School Principal Tracey Franklin sent out a plea for the community “The Road to States . . . The Road to Equal Access,” Digital Age Solution responded quickly. Michael Kuster, owner of the information technology firm, immediately called the school to offer a solution that afternoon. “We have two brand new Chromebooks in the shop right now. I will donate them to get things rolling,” he told the principal.

In her call to action, Mrs. Franklin explained that while the community has been very supportive of the school’s very successful football team, the school really needs help in providing technology in the classrooms. She stated, “We are now approaching a critical time of need for technology.  Currently, we possess fewer Chromebooks and personal computers for our students than many of our county schools across all levels. A large portion of our current technology is on the brink of becoming outdated and no longer supported for repair.”

Digital Age SolutionMr. Kuster  and his son, a freshman at Walkersville High School, delivered the two computers to the high school on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 . “Our job at Digital Age Solution is to help people with technology. When we can help our schools with technology, it helps the entire community.”

Digital Age Solution provides a host of services for both business and home users. The business began in Walkersville more than a decade ago. It has since moved to Frederick, but maintains a large client base in Walkersville.

Mrs. Franklin was excited that the donated computers are the same as the ones they’ve been trying to purchase for students. “Its a lot easier to use these, because we are already prepared to integrate them with our software image,” she explained.

Walkersville High School’s goal is to purchase enough chromebooks to fill several carts in each department. Currently, there are not enough devices to go around.

Online Donations can be made at the following web address https://FrederickCounty.schoolcashonline.com/Fee/Details/3081/82/False/True  anytime over the next few months as the school continues its campaign for the “Road To Technology.”
